Our History

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

As Miriam Baldwin grew up in Argentina, she had compassion for other children. When she had extra of something, she would give it away or share so that others could enjoy it also. As a teenager Miriam became a Christian and taught Sunday School. Many of her students were from low-income families. She would bring cakes, cookies, and clothing to share with them. Miriam studied and became a certified Elementary School Teacher. One and a half years after she met Bo, she married him and came to the United States in 1986. She worked many years in a Child Development Center as a teacher. In 1996 she opened her own institute for training teachers in the Spanish language to open their own Family Day Care or work in a Day Care Center. Through these 25 years of experiences, she observed many needs of children and women in the community. Bo grew up in Washington, D.C. living in a diverse community where there was a growing number of homeless people. He participated in several events preparing or serving food for the homeless at his church. For several years he was a Sunday School Teacher at a homeless shelter in DC.

The Lord has used Bo and Miriam together in distributing clothing and food through their church, but also on their own. They have visited nursing homes to bring the word of God. At Christmas time several years they participated in the Angel Tree Project, collecting, and delivering gifts for the children of men and women in prison. A few years ago, Miriam organized a Ministry “Women with Purpose” to help women who need both emotional and spiritual healing.

Bo and Miriam wanted to start a ministry in which they could share their love with others. The name “Love Without Borders” came from the title of a newspaper article written about their love story, the day they were married in Argentina in 1985. This name seemed appropriate because they desired to include people of every nation and every tribe.

Donations to this ministry are used to help with food, clothing, education, and Christian discipleship with children, families, pastors, and missionaries. Currently we are reaching out in Argentina, El Salvador, Honduras, Bangladesh, and the USA. To God be the Glory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
